We respond to legitimate copyright infringement notices concerning material made available through our website.

1. Copyright Infringement Notices

If you are a copyright owner, or an authorized representative of a copyright owner, and believe that material available on Simulation World infringes your copyright, you may submit a copyright infringement notification to us.

For a notice to be properly reviewed, please provide the following information:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work

Provide a description of the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed. If multiple copyrighted works are involved, you may provide a representative list.

2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material

Provide the exact URL or other information that allows us to locate the material you believe is infringing.

3. Your contact information

Please provide your full name, email address, telephone number, and mailing address so that we can contact you regarding your complaint.

4. Good-faith statement

Include a statement confirming that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in question is not authorized by the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or applicable law.

5. Accuracy and authority statement

Include a statement confirming that the information in your notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

6. Signature

Your physical or electronic signature is required.

A notice missing important information may not be sufficient for us to process it as a formal copyright infringement notification.

These requirements are consistent with the elements described by the U.S. Copyright Office for notices under Section 512.

3. Review and Removal

After receiving a sufficiently detailed copyright complaint, Simulation World may review the reported material and take appropriate action.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • temporarily disabling access to the reported material;
  • removing the reported material;
  • contacting the uploader or creator;
  • requesting additional information from the copyright claimant or uploader; or
  • taking other appropriate action.

Removal of content does not necessarily constitute a finding that infringement has occurred. Simulation World may consider the information provided by all relevant parties and any applicable legal rights or defenses.

4. User-Submitted Content

Simulation World allows registered users and creators to submit and publish content.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or other legal authorization to upload and distribute material through Simulation World.

By submitting content, users represent that they have the right to submit the content and that the submission does not knowingly infringe another person's intellectual property rights.

Simulation World does not claim ownership of original content solely because it is uploaded to the platform. Copyright ownership remains with the applicable copyright owner, subject to any license or permissions granted to Simulation World for operating and displaying the content.

5. Game Names, Logos and Trademarks

Game names, logos, trademarks, characters, brands, and other intellectual property displayed on Simulation World may belong to their respective owners.

Simulation World is an independent community platform and is not necessarily affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the respective game developers or publishers unless expressly stated.

The use of game-related names or references on this website is intended to identify the games and content for which community modifications are created.

6. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed or disabled as a result of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was made in error, you may contact us with a counter-notification.

A counter-notification should include sufficient information to identify the removed material and explain why you believe the material was removed incorrectly.

For a formal DMCA counter-notification under U.S. law, additional requirements may apply, including identification of the removed material, statements concerning good faith and consent to applicable jurisdiction, and a signature.

After receiving a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the original complainant and handle the matter in accordance with applicable law.

7. Repeat Infringement

Simulation World may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly submit content that is determined to infringe the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others.

The specific action taken may depend on the circumstances, the history of the account, and applicable law.

8. False or Misleading Claims

Copyright complaints should only be submitted by copyright owners or authorized representatives with a legitimate basis for the claim.

Knowingly submitting materially false claims of copyright infringement may have legal consequences. The U.S. Copyright Office notes that materially misrepresenting infringement can create liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

9. Other Copyright Concerns

For questions concerning copyright, ownership, licensing, permissions, or content hosted on Simulation World, please contact us through our Contact Us page or the DMCA contact address listed above.

We encourage copyright owners and creators to contact us directly so that copyright concerns can be reviewed and resolved efficiently.
